TOKYO / KOBE

Easter Sunday at sea on the way to Tokyo

A little lumpy at sea today

Canapes with a Sakura Sake

La Dame last night

Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is 8 miles due west of us.  With my binoculars I can see the huge new containment structures and storage tank farm.

Day at sea...

A little rough this evening...

An amazing greeting as we docked...Mt Fuji
is rarely seen from Tokyo due to smog or clouds

Zojo-ji temple...gate dating to 1622

Azaleas in bloom as the last of the cherry blossoms hang on

Behind these bronze doors lay 6 famous shogun warriors

This massive bronze bell was shipped from China as Buddhism was spreading

Nezu shrine

The most spectacular blaze of color I have ever seen...40 varieties of Azaleas

Imperial Palace perimeter

Tempura lunch 12th floor of Mitsukoshi annex

The Ginza

Mitsukoshi & Matsuya are the best departments stores in the world

A quick visit to the ultimate 12 floor stationary store Itoya

Shibuya Sky observation deck

Shibuya crossing

Our driver coming to rescue us from the hoards of pedestrians

Mario carts that tourists rent and then get fined as they are illegal đŸ˜‚

Marunouchi building where we ate dinner on 35th floor

Moritaya Marunouchi

Our walled in booth

Palace grounds at night

Streets of Tokyo on the way back to the ship

Our final dinner alfresco

Arrival in Kobe

Ikuta shrine

Shopping at Daimaru in Kobe

An amazing food floor with another below

Best selection of fine sake cups

Lookout over Kobe

Hakutsuru sake brewery

Downtown Osaka

Kansai airport

That is the beacon structure for landing alignment...it is partly slopped as the
entire airport island has been slowly sinking since it was constructed.

They doubled the flood wall height to protect over-topping in typhoons

The long approach bridge to the airport

Final distant view of the Muse

Rugged terrain as we approach Seoul S. Korea

Incheon International Airport

Next to us is one of the last A380's to be produced

Then it was a reality check...a long mess caused by the Ft Lauderdale
flooding....Our Jetblue mint class tickets went adios!  After a last minute late night
cancellation, we briefly stayed at a nearby Hyatt and boarded an early flight to W. Palm stuck in row 28 đŸ˜’

It was an amazing vacation...sayonara!
